Dominicans and the Americas
Inside the Convento de San Esteban is a museum dedicated to the Dominicans and their missionary work in the New World. The Dominicans were renowned for defending the rights of the indigenous in a time period marked by heated debates in which participants discussed the intellectual capacity of the original inhabitants of the Americas.
