After we had settled into the hostel, we ventured out to see some of the sights in Lagos. The first that we bumped into was the statue of Henry the Navigator.In 1415 a giant fleet set sail from Lagos to capture Ceuta in Morocco under the command of Prince Henry the Navigator, who was only 21 at the time, thus setting the stage for the Age of Exploration in the XV-XVI centuries.
