Mosteiro de São Bento Rio de Janeiro
The next day, Megan and I went to the conference in the morning and then took a tour of downtown Rio during the afternoon.
First on the itinerary was the Mosteiro de São Bento, which is one of the finest colonial churches in all of Brazil. It was built beween 1617 and 1641 on Morro de São Bento with a simple exterior which hides a richly adorned baroque interior decorated with gold.
