This pyramid-shaped cathedral in the heart of downtown Rio de Janeiro was designed by Edgar Fonseca and the building was completed in 1979. The Catedral Metropolitana has stained glass windows that rise over 300 feet in the air, and thus it also has an impressive seating capacity: up to 20,000 people!
