Palatino

After we finished up at the Coliseo, we continued our exploration of Roman antiquity, venturing to the Palatino, or Palatine Hill. The most centrally located of Rome's seven hills, it is acclaimed to be one of the most ancient parts of the city.

According to recent arqueological excavations, people have inhabited the area since approximately 1000 BC. In fact, the ruins of the palaces of Augustus (63 BC - 14 AD), Tiberius (42 BC - 37 AD), and Domitian (51 AD - 96) can still be seen today.
