Before leaving for Guatemala, I made sure to get some good quality time with my amor. One of the things that we love doing together is taking walks, so we took advantage of a beautiful spring day to take our stroll. And, yes, we did stop to smell the flowers.....

Halloween 2009: Pumpkin Carving

Completely spur of the moment, I decided on Halloween afternoon that Brian and I needed a pumpkin. My rationale was that if we didn't have one, then how were the trick-or-treaters going to know that we had candy to give out?

So, I went to Dillon's and picked out a pumpkin that had green spots all over it. I think that no one had brought him before because he was green (i.e. pumpkin racism).

Once I brought it home, Brian humored me and helped carve it. I think that he just wanted to stab the knife in its head a few times....

Sleepy....

All work, no play makes for a very sleepy individual at the end of the week. It seems like a new Friday tradition is curling up on the futon with one or both of the cats to catch some z's....

Latin Dance Party - October 3, 2009

GRASP (Graduate Association of Spanish and Portuguese) worked with the Latino Faculty and Staff Council to co-host a Latin Dance Party on October 3, 2009 at Wilde’s Chateau 24. This was a benefit to raise money for the Educational Opportunity Programs (EOP) Scholarship, which helps low-income, first-generation students at KU. After several weeks of preparation to get everything organized and ready for the event, the big night finally arrived. It was a complete success, and we were able to raise $879.25 for the scholarship! Thank you to everyone who came out to show their support!

edIT @ The Granada

On April 18, 2009, edIT came to play at the Granada here in Lawrence, KS. That is one of the perks of living in a college town - there are definitely good bands that come through and thus good shows.
