Maximón is a saint that is venerated by the Mayan communities in the Highlands of Guatemala with offerings of liquor, cigars, candles, cigarettes, and other miscellaneous items.

When we first arrived to the Wuqu' Kawoq house in Santiago Sacatepéquez, Maximón was in dire need of a bath. After finding these little tiny silver worms under his necklaces, we decided there was no other option. We collaboratively worked toward cleaning poor Maximón up - here are some pictures of our efforts.
