Morelia. Michoacán, Mexico. Sept 2008.

After we got settled into life in Kansas, I took off for Mexico during the second week of September 2008 to present a paper at the conference entitled “Dos siglos de revoluciones en México” sponsored by UNAM and the Comisión Universitaria para los Festejos del Bicentenario de la Independencia y del Centenario de la Revolución Mexicana.

From Lawrence, Brian drove me to the Kansas City International Airport, where I took a plane to Houston, Texas. From Houston, I had a connection into Guadalajara with my final destination being Mexico City. Once I arrived to the Mexico City airport (see picture above), I took a taxi across town to the regional bus station so that I could take the 3-hour bus to Morelia in Michoacán, Mexico.

I finally arrived to my hotel around 10 o’clock that night, exhausted. All in all, it was quite an adventurous day of traveling…
