The Best of Pals

After a few months of having Sadie around, Smokey grew quite fond of her. This was the first time that we actually caught that snuggling together on one of their tents. Aren't they just precious?

Finals Week - Fall 2008

Ah, the joys of academic life. December is a never-ending rat race to finish all of the final papers, exams, etc. before the luxuries of Winter Break can had. Sadie, however, found the real utility of books - they make an excellent prop for sleeping!

I must admit that I was quite jealous watching her cut the z's while I kept pecking away at the keyboard trying to come up with a magnum opus to turn in for my Contemporary Peninsular Novel class.

December in Lawrence

Even though it gets so bloody hot in Kansas during the summer, we have what they call a "temperate" climate in that it gets bloody cold here during the winter.

December was what I would consider to be a fairly snowy month. I mean, even the tornado horn in the top picture is snow-covered.

All the same, the locals were overjoyed at what a "mild" winter it turned out to be. This makes me very afraid of what a "harsh" winter would entail....
